Update from the Huntington Beach Police Department:

SEXUAL BATTERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

September 19, 2013 at 9:42am
SUSPECT: LINVILLE, Mathew Andrew - 19 year old male from Westminster

Between 8-28-13 and 9-13-13 three sexual batteries occurred in the Bella Terra Mall area in Huntington Beach. The suspect approached women and sexually battered them by groping their breasts and buttocks area before running away.

On 9-18-13 plain clothes officers from the Huntington Beach Police Department were working the area in response to these attacks. They saw LINVILLE enter a business at the mall and noticed he matched the description of the suspect. They contacted the manager who confirmed LINVILLE was in fact an employee at the location. Investigators conducted follow up investigation and were able to connect LINVILLE to the attacks. LINVILLE was arrested at his home in Westminster at 4:40 PM that afternoon. Evidence recovered along with statements connected LINVILLE to all three attacks. Investigators were also able to connect him to a similar attack in Westminster.

LINVILLE was booked at the Huntington Beach City Jail for assault with intent to commit rape and sexual battery and is currently being held on a $100,000 bail.
